10 Recent Movie Deaths That Pissed Everyone Off

Osgood Perkins' The Monkey is remembered, above all else, for its absolutely wild death scenes, though it's also fair to say that the single most pivotal death in the entire movie ends up falling a little flat for technical reasons.

In the film's climax, estranged twins Hal and Bill Shelburn (both played by Theo James, obviously) finally reconcile, only for the scheming Bill to be suddenly killed by the cursed monkey, which causes a bowling ball to be fired at his head, instantly decapitating him.

It's a gnarly idea for sure, but the resulting death is realised through such hokey visual effects that it ends up looking like something straight out of Looney Tunes.

Now, The Monkey is hardly a film that takes itself particularly seriously, but even so, considering how brilliantly executed so many of the deaths throughout the movie are, it's frustrating that the big climactic kill is quite literally a damp squib.
