8. Daisy Isn't Dead (Yet) - Love Lies Bleeding
Rose Glass' superb neo-noir Love Lies Bleeding boasted a killer first trailer which perfectly sold the movie's off-kilter tone and firecracker central performances from Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian.
It also for some reason gave away the very end of the movie.
The trailer ends with a brief clip showing Lou (Stewart) and Jackie (O'Brian) driving along a road with what appears to be a dead body in the bed of their truck. Except, we see said "corpse" rise up, still alive, as Lou looks with concern at a sleeping Jackie.
This is actually the very last scene of the movie, and basically ruins one of the film's most darkly funny gags for anyone who remembers it.
If you're watching the movie and recall this clip from the trailer, then the moment that Daisy (Anna Baryshnikov) is "killed" by Lou and rolled up in a carpet for disposal, you'll know that she's still very much alive.
Not for long, though, as the film ends with Lou strangling her and dumping her dead-for-real body in a field. Still, ruining this gag for no good reason was a choice alright.
