10 Recent Movie Twists EVERYONE Predicted

Did it shock anyone when, at the conclusion of Kraven the Hunter, the heavily accented, deeply shady mobster played by Russell Crowe revealed himself to be the secret architect of the assassination attempt on his own son, Sergei aka Kraven (Aaron Taylor-Johnson)?

Now to be fair, there's a little more to it than this - Sergei's father Nikolai (Crowe) alerted Aleksei Sytsevich aka Rhino (Alessandro Nivola) to Kraven's existence not to have his son killed, but because he knew that Kraven would retaliate and kill Rhino, in turn eliminating his father's biggest enemy.

It's hardly a surprise to anyone that's been paying attention, though, nor that once this fact is pieced together by Kraven, he tees up his father's demise, leaving him to be mauled to death by a bear.

You don't hire Russell Crowe to merely sit in a chair and watch from the sidelines in a superhero movie unless there's going to be some sort of payoff at the end, and there it is.
