We couldn’t have done this list without including the popular hate stimulant that is The Last Jedi, but to subvert your expectations we have placed it lower in the list.

Widely known to have parted opinion’s wider that Moses parted the sea, The Last Jedi came to the fold with a different kind of Star Wars movie.

Rian Johnson’s brought a noticeably increased level of artistic style in his cinematography and editing that was not commonplace in a Star Wars film. However, it was of course the lore altering, out-of-place activist story-threads and constant subversion of expectations that caused The Last Jedi to become the one of the most popular films to hate – especially with the incredibly defensive fan base that the Star Wars franchise has always been home to.

The Last Jedi’s level of hate even resulted in a muddled and rushed conclusion to the newly named Skywalker Saga in the form of The Rise of Skywalker, which tried desperately to undo a lot of the creative decisions that its predecessor had made.
