That film broke all sorts of records, and from the troubling beginnings of seeing the internet complain about the casting of Chris Pratt, this is a property that now has franchise success written all over it. The surface of Super Mario lore has barely been scratched, and it is all but guaranteed that it will be explored more in years to come.

With the likes of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Donkey Kong, and Bowser, The Super Mario Bros. Movie brought in a lot of the big names from the gaming series, but omitted a pretty big one. This particular character, though, was teased in the post-credits sting with his unmistakable green spotted egg.
