10 Recent Movies That Perfectly Set Up Incredible Sequels

With Michal B. Jordan at the forefront, Creed is one of the most successful spin-off franchises in recent memory. The best days of the Rocky movies were well in the past, but shifting focus to the son of Apollo Creed breathed new life into the tired film series.

The Creed threequel was based around Donnie coming out of retirement to fight Damian, and though he was World Champion when the credits rolled, the story of his boxing career has been told. That does not mean the franchise can't continue, though, as was hinted at by one of Creed III's subplots.

Adonis is not the only Creed, and he is not the only Creed that can box. Throughout the movie, Donnie and Bianca's daughter Amara learned how to handle conflict and fight for herself, and after her dad's big win, she sparred with him in the ring.

This couldn't have been a more perfect setup to put Amara at the centre of a Creed IV, with Donnie as her mentor. Michael B. Jordan impressed in his directorial debut on Creed III, and it would make perfect sense to allow him to bring a sequel to life with a compelling and organic story for which the seeds have already been sewn.
