10 Recent Movies That Should've Ended Earlier
1. Until Dawn
The recent adaptation of hit video game Until Dawn is, to the disappointment of many fans, about as loose as adaptation get - that is to say, it's not based on the plot of the game at all.
However, after Clover (Ella Rubin) and her friends finally break free of the murderous time loop they've caught themselves in, the film continues on for another minute, as the surveillance system in the office of the villainous Dr. Hill (Peter Stormare) shows a car pulling up at a snowy cabin.
Given that the cabin is the setting of the Until Dawn game, this final scene clearly suggests that the movie is effectively a prequel of-sorts to the game.
And yet, to the great many who wanted to see a more direct adaptation of the game's story, it felt like a slap in the face to end the movie with a tease of what could've been.
And even if a second Until Dawn movie was intended to adapt the game wholesale, this film's box office underperformance so far makes a sequel unlikely.
Basically, the movie said everything it needed to say as soon as Clover and her pals drove off to greener pastures - this final tease wasn't quite the charming wink-wink nod to fans that the filmmakers clearly thought it was.
