10 Recent Movies That Wasted INCREDIBLE Casts
5. Reagan
The recent Ronald Reagan biopic may have been lambasted by most critics as right-wing revisionist history slop, but the credentials of its wider ensemble cast are tough to deny, even if it includes prominently right-leaning actors like Dennis Quaid (playing Reagan), Jon Voight, and Robert Davi.
Elsewhere the talent onboard is further hard to deny - Penelope Ann Miller, C. Thomas Howell, Xander Berkeley, Mena Suvari, Kevin Dillon, and Justin Chatwin.
That's quite the accomplished cast for a biopic which was widely panned for being an uncritical hagiography of one of the most polarising figures in contemporary politics.
Quaid has received some scattered praise for his performance as Reagan, though the easy consensus is that he, like his co-stars, had precious little to work with here.
A Reagan biopic could absolutely have done this cast service in the right hands, but the hands here being Sean "Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!" McNamara? Surely not.
