10 Recent Movies That Were Sent Out To Die

5. The 355

Death On The Nile
Universal

The 355 is an exercise in two things: How to somehow waste Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o, Diane Kruger, and Penelope Cruz; and how to generate literally no buzz for a movie.

Released with minimal marketing and a generic trailer that made it clear it wasn't going to live up to its ambitions, The 355 is the kind of movie that comes out every year, hoping to make an impact without doing the work needed to get butts in seats.

It definitely didn't help that - as far as modern spy thrillers go - it's pretty awful, giving its impressive cast nothing to work with and hitting audiences with bland, empty action sequences within a boring story.

There's a great movie in here somewhere, but its lost. Luckily, no one saw it whilst it was in cinemas because no one knew it existed. It sounds bad, but I'd count that as a win.
