10 Recent Movies That Were Sent Out To Die
5. Stuber
This summer has been a juggernaut for a certain type of movie, and while there was a small chance of a studio comedy becoming a breakout success, the track record of most comedies this year meant it was a smaller chance than was worth the risk.
Released between Spider-Man: Far From Home and The Lion King, the placement of Stuber in the release calendar was practically begging it to be swallowed up in a money vacuum. With comedies making less and less in their theatrical runs, even when they're fantastic, it was impossible for a comedy with average reviews between two Disney flicks destined for billion dollar runs to have much leftover money to trickle into its bank account.
Stuber has only managed to earn just under $24 million on a $17 million budget. Could have been worse, but could have been a lot better.
