10 Rejected Movie Actors Who NAILED It Second Time Around

1. Zoë Kravitz Is Too "Urban" For A Part In The Dark Knight Rises

The Batman
Warner Bros.

Arguably stealing the whole damn show over the course of Matt Reeves' ludicrously gripping noir take on all things The Batman, it may come as a bit of a surprise to discover that the mesmerising Zoë Kravitz was once put to one side in the lead-up to casting for a role in another Bat-flick due to apparently being too "urban".

Back when Christopher Nolan was putting the pieces in place for his third and final entry in his game-changing Dark Knight series, the actor wanted to audition for a small role in that upcoming The Dark Knight Rises feature. However, the star was soon told that they "were not going ‘urban’ on the part” that she was interested in, something Kravitz admitted to hearing a lot a decade ago.

Though some were quick to assume this meant that Kravitz was also in the running to play Catwoman in that series back in the lead-up to the 2012 flick, the current Selina Kyle would clarify that she "was NOT told (she) was too urban to play catwoman in the dark knight,” adding that it wouldn't have made sense for her to play that part at that time.

Whatever way you slice it, though, Kravitz was unquestionably denied the chance to show up in Gotham a whole decade before her version of The Cat captivated cinemas the world over.
