8. Michael Myers - Halloween: Resurrection
The Death: In Halloween H20, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) finally puts Michael Myers through the wringer, for he ends up shot and stabbed numerous times, flung through the windshield of a car, and then finally, she decapitates him with an axe. There's no coming back from that, right?
Right? The Resurrection: In Halloween: Resurrection, Laurie is now in a psychiatric institute after discovering that the person she beheaded was
not Myers after all, but a paramedic who Myers subdued. By crushing the man's larynx, he made him unable to cry out to Laurie to stop, and so in effect all she did was murder an innocent man strapped in Myers' outfit.
Why He Should Have Stayed Dead: Well, for starters, it's really f***ing dumb, even for the standards of these seemingly interminable horror film franchises. H20 actually seemed to
finally give the character some closure, with an epic death that he couldn't possibly come back from, and the explanation in Resurrection is just laughably convoluted. To rub salt in the wound, the movie then kills off Laurie in the first act.
