10 Returning Marvel Actresses For Olivia Wilde's Spider-Verse Movie

Kirsten Dunst was a keystone in Sam Rami’s Spider-Man success and there’s no doubt that she needs to return should the Sony-Verse revisit that world via their multiverse.

Of course, that's not to say she couldn't portray a different character if Tobey Maguire's world isn't given an extended life, but let's face it, fans deserve to see an older, married version of Mary Jane who has to watch her husband (and perhaps father of her child) risk his life as a superhero.

The original Spider-Man story left much more to be desired. With JK Simmons reprising his role in the MCU, the potential for more of Rami's characters to return is not out of the question.

Dunst has the potential to really lend heart to whatever type of multiverse story Sony attempts to tell. She's already a sympathetic character and giving Watson more agency beyond love-interest would definitely add more layers to a favorite original cast member.

If they wanted to take a page from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, we could find MJ divorced from Parker. With Zendaya taking the mantle as MJ, Sony should give Dunst one last chance to retire the character.
