4. It Wasnt The Dursleys Fault
The Dursleys are irredeemable nasty idiots, right? Well, actually maybe thats not completely true. According to one particularly thought-provoking fan theory, Harrys aunt, uncle and cousin cant be entirely blamed for their horrible behaviour, which lest we forget included making him sleepy in a ruddy cupboard. So, who or what can we blame? Well, it comes down to horcruxes. In both The Chamber Of Secrets and The Deathly Hallows, were shown that being in close proximity to a horcrux for an elongated period can make you behave in strange ways. In Rons case, he turns more miserable than Lord Of The Rings Frodo when hes been carrying the one ring for too long. The Deathly Hallows also taught us an important fact that Harry was a horcrux. Not just any horcrux - one that the Dursleys had to share a house with for years on end. That kind of exposure could certainly turn you cruel, couldnt it? Ron became insufferable after only a couple of weeks, after all. Ten years could turn anyone into a heartless hateful being. Although Rowling has offered an alternative reason for why the Dursleys are such Harry-haters, this theory is one of the most plausible on this list.
