10 Ridiculous Movie Controversies That Went Nowhere

6. Sylvester Stallone's Absence - Creed III

Even though Sylvester Stallone confirmed that Creed II would be his final Rocky when it released back in 2018, many fans were still infuriated when his absence from Creed III was double-confirmed in recent months.

Some incredibly steadfast fans felt that every movie in the Rocky universe should feature its title character, some even feeling that it was an "insult" to Stallone, who created the franchise, to leave him out of Adonis Creed's (Michael B. Jordan) latest chapter.

Further complicating matters was Stallone's soured relationship with franchise producer Irwin Winkler, prompting him to state that he couldn't support any future movies and would "never" watch Creed III.

Many naturally took the least-charitable reading of this headline possible and assumed that Stallone had bad blood with actor-director Jordan, which wasn't the case at all.

In the end, Creed II truly felt like a natural send-off for Rocky, and while a small cameo or phone conversation in Creed III might've been nice, the movie ultimately wasn't left wanting for him.

And considering the rock(y) solid reviews and mighty box office - higher than both prior Creed films - general audiences clearly weren't too bothered either.
