2. Leatherface As An Anti-Hero - Texas Chainsaw 3D
Talking of universally panned, Texas Chainsaw 3D was another victim for the critical chopping block, as it incredulously attempted to rehash the same horror shtick we've seen before, ahead of trying to turn Leatherface into something of an anti-hero in the third act. The film attempts to make us feel sorry for Leatherface, despite the fact he's obviously just massacred loads of perfectly innocent people, plus, his cousin Heather, the protagonist of the film, suddenly switches sides and decides to help Leatherface against the corrupt cops. Um, I think I know who is worse, some shady cops who want this maniac dead, or the maniac himself... It's just horribly awkward and completely unconvincing. It's shocking simply because it's hard to believe the writers had the gall to try and fly this one by us.
