10 Ridiculous Performances That Totally Derailed A Movie
7. Michael Sheen (The Twilight Saga)
I would never for one second try to convince anyone that the Twilight franchise ever produced one movie that was "on the rails" of success, so to speak, but Michael Sheen should win some sort of special achievement award for being the only actor in the entire series who clearly knew he was making garbage, and therefore decided to basically make fun of it while earning a paycheque for doing so. Sheen plays Aro, the leader of the vampire mob The Volturi, and spends the vast majority of his screen time mugging and delivering his lines in the most protracted, animated way possible. This reaches its apex in the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2. As Aro notices Edward and Bella's child, he lets out an insane cackle that drains the entire scene of every drop of self-seriousness the actors and director had just spent five minutes of screen time building up. The film didn't exactly need much help being derailed, but Sheen did it in ridiculous and spectacular style nevertheless.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
