10 Most Ridiculous Plot Holes In 2013 Movies

4. Why Would A Clone Have Jack's Memories? - Oblivion

Oblivion Epic Movie TrailerThe Movie: Tom Cruise does more of his trademark running, but this time it's sci-fI! He plays Jack Harper, a drone repairman stationed on a devastated future Earth, who gets more than he bargained for when the plot of this movie tries to tell you that he does. The Plot Hole: In case you didn't know, Oblivion clings to a overly complicated and utterly confusing story about cloning, and Tom Cruise plays one of those clones for most of the movie - Jack Harper 49. To try and explain the plot here would be like trying to do a backflip off the end of a cliff and surviving with only minimal damage. All you need to know about the story, then, is that - during the middle of the movie - Jack encounters a clone of himself: 52. Which is fine. The plot hole eases in, however, when we find out that Jack 49 and this clone (and all the the other Tom Cruise clones in the movie) share the same memories. If they were cloned from one core Tom Cruise (which it's revealed there are, as they're being tricked by an artificial intelligence to carry out dirty work), why would they have his memories? Implants, you say? Okay, but the A.I. would have had to have specifically selected which memories to upload - why would they have given him dangerous ones that cause him question his own existence? Huh?
