Watching any of your work back can be awkward, especially if it’s a film you’re in. However, knowing you’ll watch it with your peers should make things easier. Unfortunately, Jaime Lee Curtis didn’t have that luxury with her turn in the most recent Halloween movie in a screening which was a whole other level of weird.

Insisting on seeing Halloween Ends before she had to go out and promote it, the studio agreed to screen the film just for Curtis in an empty theatre. They also allowed her to control the volume coming through her headphones, allowing her to turn the volume down the minute any frightening sequence came on.

However, Curtis wasn’t left entirely on her own. In a wildly baffling decision, the studio also insisted on having a guard in the room to keep her from pirating her own movie. Yes, you read that right.

Justifiably angry at that imposition, she was delighted to find out that as she lowered the volume in the scary scenes, she could hear the shrieks and whimpers of her guard. Recounting this situation on the Graham Norton show, she mockingly made a rude gesture at the guard. Wholeheartedly, Jaime, we are right there with you.
