Despite only being seventeen years of age Hailee Steinfeld has been nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA. The nominations both came from her portrayal of a young girl who has just lost her father, in the Coen Brothers remake of True Grit. Steinfeld had to beat fifteen thousand other applicants to land the role in the 2010 western, making her big screen debut alongside screen legend Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. Soaring through her baptism of fire, Steinfeld certainly made her stamp on Hollywood. In 2013 Steinfeld appeared in sci-fi blockbuster Ender's Game. The film wasn't the critical success it should have been, a poor script with terrible dialogue hindering the young cast from really showing what they could do. Despite this Steinfeld still showed enough acting chops to help push the film from shocking to watchable. Set to appear in Pitch Perfect 2 (among other things) in 2015, Steinfeld's star is still very much on the rise. PP2 will see her star alongside Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendricks in the follow up to the 2012 smash-hit, and provide her with another chance to show us why she is a star of the future; all before her eighteenth birthday.
