10 Robert De Niro Movies That Suck More Than Dirty Grandpa

3. Little Fockers

At the time Meet The Parents was a refreshing change of pace for De Niro; he got to milk his mega serious persona for comic effect and he appeared to have a great time doing it. There weren€™t nearly as many laughs in Meet The Fockers, and the gags had well and truly dried up by the time Little Fockers dug itself out of the ground. Little Fockers isn€™t technically a movie; it€™s a collection of scenes stitched together in the hope that some of them will raise a chuckle. There€™s the sketch where De Niro gets an erection he can€™t get rid of, the scene where De Niro is hilariously (?) buried in sand or the endless €œFocker€ gags, including Greg becoming €œThe Godfocker.€ That€™s the level of humour we€™re dealing with here. Everybody involved with the film seems to be aware of what they were making; Barbara Streisand admitted she couldn€™t make it through the whole thing, and when picking up a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Golden Globes De Niro opened with €œI was very, very moved and gratified when you made the announcement two months ago, well before you had a chance to review Little Fockers.€

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
