Ever wondered what Southern Comfort would be like if the Cajuns were mutants that lived in mines, kidnapped women for breeding purposes and could fool National Guard trainees by disguising themselves as crash test dummies? Thought not. This sequel tells you anyway, and judging from an early scene where a ‘scientist’ begins making small talk with an entrails-eating hillbilly (“Do you have a name?”), there’ll be beaucoup dead pinheads before the end credits.

This becomes apparent when we meet our ‘heroes’, who’re introduced during a training exercise with a 100% mortality rate, a statistic that so impresses The Powers That Be they despatch the squad to investigate the strange goings on in the desert.

Even before they board their vehicles, though, you’ll have started taking bets: will it be The Black Guy, The Fat Guy or The Hispanic Guy that gets iced first? Save yourself 89 minutes of ticking off horror movie clichés, and buy the soundtrack instead.
