2. Always Listen To The Person Everyone Else Thinks Is Crazy
If a character in an action movie either stumbles across a huge conspiracy or discovers some kind of massive threat that will have a huge effect on the plot, you can bet your house on the fact that not a single person will listen to them until it's too late.
Whether it's trying to warn the government about impending alien invasions, the threat of war or some very bad apples that hold the most powerful positions in the land, they simply get swatted away for being a minor irritation, only to find themselves being begged for assistance by the end of the second act.
Sometimes the hero is the only person that takes them seriously and uses the information to stay one step ahead of their adversaries, but if everyone just listened to the so-called 'crazy guy' from the beginning then there would be a lot less casualties along the way.
