9. Heidi Fleiss

The world's most infamous Madam, Heidi Fleiss shocked Hollywood and had many of its stars quaking in their boots at the thought of being revealed as one of her clients. But she has always kept schtumm on this issue. Fleiss began her trade under Madam Alex, she worked as a prostitute for a while herself to get an insight into the industry. At that time, Madam Alex's girls were getting older and Heidi was in charge of recruiting fresh talent. By 1990, Heidi was running her very own prostitution ring. She allegedly made her first million within four months of setting up shop. She actually had to turn girls away, they were so willing to work with her. In 1993 and 1994, charges of pandering and tax evasion saw Heidi given a seven year prison sentence. She did not serve the full sentence in jail - after 20 months she was sent to live in a halfway house and to do 370 hours of community service. Acclaimed documentary maker Nick Broomfield was fascinated by the affair and in 1995, he made a film about Heidi. Heidi was prone to substance abuse and after the brouhaha of her Madam past died down, she became involved in a notorious relationship with Tom Sizemore who was convicted for making abusive telephone calls to her, threatening her and beating her. Both Fleiss and Sizemore were on the third season of Celebrity Rehab. It was a fairly amicable reunion. Heidi left the show and crashed her car. She had to return to rehab. Heidi Fleiss has always maintained a dignified silence on who her clients were, and fair play to her because she could make a mint out of naming a few stars.
