10 Scariest Car Scenes Of All Time

7. Someone's In The Back Seat! - Urban Legend

Urban Legend may not be a great film (or a good one) but the opening scene is perfect in building suspense and misdirecting the audience. As a young woman named Michelle tries to pay for fuel at a gas station, the stuttering attendant, (played delightfully by an OTT Brad Dourif), claims her credit card isn't working.

When Michelle enters the garage to speak to the credit card company on the phone, the attendant abruptly locks the door. Suspecting he is going to attack her, Michelle beats him up and breaks out of the garage. The attendant keeps trying to warn Michelle about something but his stammer prevents him from getting the words out. Ignoring his pleas, Michelle dives into her car and drives off.

By the time the attendant cries out, 'Someone's in the back seat!' Michelle is too far away to hear him. While she believes she is finally out of danger, a hooded figure can be seen lurching in the background, brandishing an axe. Sadly, Michelle only notices the maniac a second before she gets her head lopped off.
