9. Helen Returns - Candyman
You won't find many horror movies more intimately concerned with mirrors as vessels of terror than Candyman - after all, the titular murderous spirit can be summoned by anyone who says his name five times in a mirror.
Though we see this happen several times throughout the movie, the most intense instance occurs right at the end of the film following the death of protagonist Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen).
Her guilt-riddled husband Trevor (Xander Berkeley), who was having an affair with one of his students, says Helen's name five times in front of the bathroom mirror, in turn summoning Helen's mutilated, hook-handed spirit.
She promptly murders Trevor with her hook, leaving his corpse to be discovered by his student-lover Stacey (Carolyn Lowery).
