10 Scariest PG Rated Movies EVER MADE

It's Alive
20th Century Fox

Released in 1972, the campy horror anthology movie Tales from the Crypt was a series of loosely connected scary shorts which went on to spawn the very R-rated smash hit HBO anthology series of the same name in the late eighties,

However, upon its initial release, the original movie itself was actually a PG film. It's quite an achievement when the film is largely true to the over-the-top but nonetheless creepy and often gory tone of the EC Comics its inspiration was drawn from.

But what makes this one really stand out is the Joan Collins starring sequence which features the actor as a conniving widow chased by a murderous madman dressed as Santa Claus.

If that's not unsuitable for kids, it's hard to tell what is.
