Yes, believe it or not, the killer baby movie was actually PG rated.

The director of the later, similarly themed Basket Case must have been kicking himself for not cutting out a few cuss words and securing The Goonies viewing demographic.

It's hard to imagine how, but It's Alive managed to secure a PG rating upon its 1974 release despite... Well, despite being the story of a killer baby.

Suffused with the sly satirical wit of iconic cult horror director Larry Cohen (of Q The Winged Serpent and The Stuff fame), this one may not be as weird as his later God Told Me To, but it's an incredibly audacious and laughably shocking horror nonetheless, and far from standard PG viewing.
