10 Scary Supercomputers From Movie History

2. SKYNET - The Terminator Movies (1984-2009)

Scary Supercomputers - The Terminator - SKYNET Do I really need to explain who (or what) SKYNET is? Surely everyone on this site knows the Terminator movies and the ultimate villainous computer, SKYNET. Well, in the interest of pseudo-journalism, I'll reveal a few facts about this malevolent computer system and the Terminator movies. Originally designed as a computer program in charge of America's military defense systems (gee, that sounds a lot like Colossus), SKYNET quickly became sentient and decides mankind must be wiped out. The cult-classic films in the Terminator series primarily depict the struggles between John Connor and his supporting cast against SKYNET and its mechanical assassins known as Terminators. The Terminator series of films have become an icon of the future war, robot, time travel, and sentient computer genres. They even ensured Arnold Schwarzenegger would remain a household name for as long as movies exist. These films are a must-see series for any sci-fi fan.
