10 Scenes In The Dark Knight Trilogy That Should Have Been Cut

6. SWAT Van Driver - The Dark Knight

the dark knight rises Idiotic small characters in The Dark Knight again, this time the useless SWAT member who is in the passenger seat of the van carrying Harvey Dent. Dent has lied to the public, telling them he was Batman. Now he has to be transported to the county prison and the Joker is obviously going to try and kill him on the way. Whilst they're driving, the camera cuts between Dent in the back of the van, then to the front where the annoying passenger sits. He has clearly been added for comic effect but at this point in the film it just doesn't fit. Cars are being blown up, people presumably being killed left, right and centre and then you have this guy doing comedy 'whoa's' and saying nonsense like 'I didn't sign up for this!' You're a SWAT officer, of course you did! This guy clearly belongs in some sort of buddy comedy. His lines don't suit the serious situation and they're not that funny anyway. He should have been cut from the scene. Obviously we have to see the driver but do we really need the other guy?
