10 Scenes In The Dark Knight Trilogy That Should Have Been Cut

5. Alfred Plot Giveaway - The Dark Knight Rises

michael-caine-as-alfred-in-the-dark-knight Michael Caine definitely gives his best performance of the trilogy in The Dark Knight Rises. Sadly, it is also the film in which he has the least amount of screen time. However, after watching the film, I felt a bit dissatisfied. The ending was good; a happy ending but still one that people can question - what if Alfred was just hallucinating? But, the fact that Alfred pretty much gives away the end of the film a mere 30 minutes into the film is a bit annoying. Yes, it does provide a link between the beginning of the film and the end but, did it have to be so obvious? The flashbacks of Alfred on holiday sitting at a cafe thinking he is seeing Bruce there are too vivid. If they were cut and he just told Bruce he wished he had never came back to Gotham and that one day he always wished he would see him somewhere else with a wife or a family, it might have been a bit better.
