10 Sci-Fi Movie Moments That Pissed Off Fans

7. George And Lorraine Don't Recognise Their Son - Back To The Future

In what is still one of hollywood's most glaring plot issues, Back to the Future famously all hinges on one major issue: Marty McFly's parents not recognising their own son when he's stood right in front of them.

Back to the Future follows Marty and his 'Doc' mentor going back in time to the year 1955 and getting his mother and father together in order to stop himself and his family from disappearing from history. He spends the vast majority of the film hanging around with both his parents, getting particularly friendly with his mum in the process. A bit too friendly really, all things considered.

Marty not only establishes himself as a good friend during George and Lorraine's high school romance, and the man who steals the show with his guitar solos, but he is also the guy who is solely responsible for bringing them together for a lifelong marriage.

Back to the Future is an absolute classic, and no plot hole can take away its legacy and almost universal popularity amongst film fans. But this moment will always be the point in which everyone watching begins to start tutting to themselves.
