10 Sci-Fi Movie Remakes That Need To Happen
3. Logan's Run
This film is another example of a pioneering classic that helped to bring some credibility to the medium. Logan's Run brought about some real state of the art visual effects and art design which made people take note of the spectacle of the genre, but also had a compelling narrative that helped to keep it engaging.
The year is 2274, and humanity lives in an almost idyllic society. The only problem is that once you reach the age of thirty, your life is terminated. The story is based on the book of the same name written by William F. Nolan and establishes the tale of Logan.
Logan works as a Sandman tasked to hunt down runners - those trying to escape death - and bring them to "justice". He soon receives the job of infiltrating a plane outside of the dome called The Sanctuary to destroy it from the inside, but soon comes to learn how his ideal life isn't so perfect.
The grand narrative is utterly brilliant and has shades of classic sci-fi, but also an easily relatable tale of government manipulation. If it were to be updated with new aesthetics and art direction, it could be an utterly mesmerising outing into the sci-fi world.
