10 Sci-Fi Movie Villains That Had Totally Lame Deaths

3. The Dark Overlord - Howard The Duck

For so much of Howard the Duck's second half, the film's big bad is the mysterious Dark Overlord.

A life form with the capabilities to possess somebody's body and mind, the Dark Overlord is hiding in plain sight throughout a large portion of Willard Huyck's 1986 picture, with audiences waiting for the big reveal of what this beastie looks like.

To be fair to those involved in Howard the Dark, the Dark Overlord looked actually pretty great upon his big reveal. Great for 1986 standards, of course, but great nonetheless. The only problem is, that 'true form' of the Dark Overlord was over way, way too soon.

After being forced out of the body of Jeffrey Jones' Walter Jenning, the Dark Overlord is soon blasted into the afterlife by a neutron disintegrator courtesy of Howard.

The actual death of the Dark Overlord wasn't the issue here, necessarily, but the lame part of all of this is that audiences had waited so long to see what this sinister interdimensional creature looked like - only for the true form of the Dark Overlord to be on our screens for barely two minutes being being offed.
