10 Sci-Fi Movie Villains That Killed The Hero

2. Alien: Covenant

For the most part of Alien: Covenant we were treated to a by the numbers Alien film, with nothing groundbreaking to offer the franchise. Of course, there is one notable exception - our antagonist, David.

Beginning as a somewhat morally gray character disillusioned with his flawed human creators, David's slow evolution - over the course of his experiments to create the "perfect organism" - sees him transform into a much more outwardly villainous megalomaniac sort of android. Pretty standard stuff.

His ultimate betrayal comes towards the conclusion, the point where he ultimately abandons his connection to humanity being when he lets loose the more primal and childlike Neomorph aliens on the unsuspecting crew of the Covenant ship.

When confronted by fellow android Walter, a more nuanced and emotionally complex android upgrade, David attempts to turn him against his human masters. Standing his ground against David, Walter seems to come out the victor - the resolution of their fight isn't shown.

It is later revealed to last-crew-member-standing Daniels that this android is in fact David posing as Walter, and he has smuggled aboard two Xenomorph embryos with the intent of unleashing them on the rest of the galaxy.

Cue the iconic franchise brewing.
