10 Sci-Fi Movies Everyone Remembers For One Scene

5. Doom - Returning To Its Roots

Remember classic 1993 shoot-'em-up Doom? Of course you do.

Remember its 2005 movie adaptation? Maybe, but odds are you've only heard about one particular scene, and even then, you probably never bothered to watch it.

With three substantial stars in the form of Karl Urban, Rosamund Pike and Dwayne Johnson, it seemed as though Doom might have actually been a memorable experience, but it really wasn't. Imagine if someone took all of the suspense out of the Alien franchise and then threw The Rock in for good measure, and that about sums up Doom.

While Doom wasn't all that interesting, there was one particular scene right at the movie's climax that did something... interesting.

After being injected with an experimental serum, protagonist Reaper wakes with superhuman abilities to find he must fight his way out of the facility, now overrun with evil space creatures.

What follows is a remarkably well-executed homage to the movie's source material: a first person scene in which Reaper fights a host of monsters, leaving a mass of corpses and destruction in his wake.

Not only does it play out exactly like the game, but it serves as the movie's saving grace. In fact, it's probably the only part of Doom that's worth watching.
