If you're looking for the aborted Moon mission docudrama with Tom Hanks, this is not your stop. No, Apollo 18 (not 13) is a horrifying space jaunt into the unknown, where the crew of the 18 actually make it to the moon, and savagery soon unfolds.

This sci-fi horror stars Warren Christie, Lloyd Owen and Ryan Robbins as Ben, Nate and John, the three astronauts who secretly take up the publicly cancelled mission to the Moon, where they discover strange movements in the surface rock.

The crew's flag goes missing, they uncover dead Russians and alien spider creatures infect them - yep, aliens have somehow spent the years successfully disguising themselves as moon rocks. Naturally, all hell breaks loose and the crew turn insane, struggling to return to Earth while fighting not just these alien critters, but their own government, who seem to have sent them there to plant monitoring devices and now don't want to bring the infected home. Good ol' fashioned patriot spirit.

As the film is presented in found-footage style, we are left to assume that all of the astronauts are truly deceased following fights, flights and collisions. Whether the rock aliens are loose on Earth though is up to our imaginations.
