10 Sci-Fi Movies You Must Never Pause

5. Nationwide Building Society "Cameo" - Ready Player One

Ready Player One is an insanely immersive movie which benefits from both the staggering visual effects deployed to bring the VR world of the OASIS to life, and also the superb production design to create a dystopian Columbus, Ohio.

Though most viewers would never know it, the bulk of the scenes set on the streets of Columbus were actually shot in Manchester, England, but courtesy of some incredible crafts work, Spielberg sells the illusion perfectly.

Except, that is, for the brief shot in the film's third act - at roughly the 90-minute mark - where a branch of the very, very British building society Nationwide can be briefly seen at the top of the frame for a few fractions of a second.

To any Brit viewers watching it's an immediate immersion-killer, reminding them that they're watching a work of flabbergasting artifice. Would it have killed them to put up a fake fascia to cover the logo?
