10 Scrapped Movie Sequels That Would Have Been Amazing

8. Batman 3 (Tim Burton's Catwoman)

Tim Burton's second attempt at translating the Caped Crusader to the big screen may have been a step down from the original, but if Batman Returns got anything exactly right, it was casting Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. And although Warner Bros eventually decided Burton should "take time away from the franchise to make a smaller movie," allowing Joel Schumacher to commit horrific atrocities against Gotham, Burton had always envisioned working on another Batman film in the near future. The movie that should have been made was set to be a spin-off, tentatively titled Catwoman. Daniel Waters had written a full script for the film in 1995, catching up with the character immediately after the events of Batman Returns, which gave her a severe bout of amnesia. The movie would have been equal parts Jason Bourne and Justice League, according to Waters, who wanted it to be about Catwoman rediscovering her identity in a Las Vegas-like desert resort run by other, worse superheroes. How this would have held up against the previous Batman films is up to speculation, but by default, would've been better than Batman Forever. Unfortunately, Waters turned his script into the studio just as Schumacher's Batman was making a killing at the box office.
