10 Scrapped Movie Sequels That Would Have Been Amazing

4. Night Stalkers (Blade 4)

The worst part about Blade: Trinity was Blade himself. Really, if you removed Wesley Snipes' strangely limited (I mean that in more ways than one) screen presence, and brought in a villain that wasn't eight types of awful, then Blade: Trinity would be worth watching. Reports on set from the always incisive Patton Oswalt suggest Snipes pretty much tanked the movie on purpose, as his ego had expanded like a mushroom cloud (not unlike the cloud of pot smoke supposedly pouring out of his trailer on a daily basis). He wasn't into it, which... duh. Pretty hard not to notice that watching the movie. Most of the other key elements of the sequel played quite well, though, especially the protagonist's assumed sidekicks known as The Night Stalkers. Ryan Reynolds was, in typical Ryan Reynolds fashion, a sarcastic delight, Jessica Biel was more than capable of kicking ass convincingly, and supporting characters Oswalt and Natasha Lyonne inserted some extra colour around the edges. Director David Goyer once hinted at the possibility of a spin-off focusing solely on The Night Stalkers, likely because Snipes had been such a pain to work with. But New Line was also keen on the idea, reportedly saying they loved those characters and wanted to see more of them. Prior to the raging disaster that became Blade: Trinity, they even had a tentative deal in place, with Reynolds and Biel both on board, to do one more if the sequel had been a success.
