Indiana Jones has been cracking his whip in style for almost 30 years and is arguably cinema's greatest screen hero. Indy has fought the Nazis, raided the Lost Arc, escaped from the Temple of Doom, drank from the Holy Grail and even escaped from inter-dimensional aliens (yeah...the least said about that one the better) and he's done it all with a laconic charm the ladies can't resist. Hell, this guy even likes base-jumping from rope bridges. The man is a walking talking hero. But Indy could just be the biggest nerd of all and the greatest example of movie magic at work. Just look at his real name. Would anyone fancy following the adventures of Dr Henry Walton Jones Jr and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? That's got 'I'm a hay-fever sufferer' written all over it. The man's day job is being a college professor (with tenure) and he rocks about in a tweed blazer with patches on the elbows, glasses and a flamin' bow tie! Indy the college professor also wouldn't get much opportunity to practice his impressive boxing skills...unless someone told him Star Trek is better than Star Wars of course. We love you Indy but maybe on your next adventure be a bit more true to yourself...and make sure you pack a thermos of Bovril and your antihistamines. Like the list?
