Despite humble expectations and an even humbler budget, cinema audiences saw enough in Paul Blart to make it one of the surprise hits of 2009. Five years on, Kevin James is going to reprise the role, as Paul and his daughter head to Las Vegas where a Security Guard Expo and some art thieves will kick the story on. Since the original Kevin James has, at best, been treading water - parts in Grown Ups and Zookeeper doing plenty for his bank account but little for his desired climb into the Hollywood comedy A-List - so he'll be hoping that a return to the last role he drew considerable critical acclaim from will get him back on track. Such is his desire to see this film succeed he's even moved onto the writing team, as She's The Man and The Game Plan director Andy Fickman comes in behind the camera. Segwaying into cinemas on April 17th, expect the same hijinks and slapstick that made it just about work the first time out.
