8. London Has Fallen
Later this year the UK capital will be thrown in to chaos as the halls of power in England crumble and burn in the face of evil. No, not the general election, the sequel to 2013's Olympus Has Fallen that's been creatively titled London Has Fallen. The critical and box office success of the first instalment meant that a sequel was rubber-stampted almost immediately, and October 2nd sees Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman all return as the totally routine funeral of the British Prime Minister turns into a plot to take out all the world's heads of state. Those crafty terrorists. Despite losing its director some six weeks before shooting was scheduled to begin, Iranian filmmaker Babak Najafi was put in charge with both Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt returning to write the script. Billed as a direct continuation from where the first film left events in the burning ruins of the White House, London Has Fallen offers viewers a once in a lifetime chance to see some of their favourite landmarks set on fire and blown up.
