Release Date: October 21, 2016 Underworld feels like one of those movie franchises that just quietly drifted out to sea and disappeared forever. And nobody really minded that it happened, either, because the series was getting worse and worse with every installment - and this is a franchise that didn't even start off particularly well in the first place, okay? There hasn't been an Underworld movie in three years, and then - all of a sudden - there's one due in 2016. Don't pretend you knew anything about it. Don't pretend you knew that Kate Beckinsale is back to reprise her role as "Death Dealer and Vampire-Corvinus Strain Hybrid" Selene. Or that Anna Foerster, a fully-fledged female, is on directing duties. Theo James, Tobias Menzies, Lara Pulver, and Charles Dance are also set to star. Will they live to regret featuring in this as much as you'll regret going to see it? Probably not, because they got paid lots. A shame, as this is the sort of movie you'd love to give the benefit of the doubt, and yet the soiled franchise legacy makes that super difficult to do.
