Release Date: October 21, 2016 Despite the raging controversies regarding his height, the filmic adaptation of Lee Child's iconic character Jack Reacher proved to be a solid effort for Tom Cruise - so much so, in fact, that ol' Tom decided that he'd get into bed with a sequel and everything. That's right: this guy decided that he wanted to play two generic hero characters in multiple action movie franchises at once. So now there's Mission: Impossible and Jack Reacher, which is totally fine with us, because Cruise is pulling out all the stops. Still, did you expect there to be a Jack Reacher movie next year? Like, in 2016? No, you didn't. Who did? Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is set for release in October 2016, and - alongside Cruise - is set to star Cobie Smulders and Aldis Hodge. Based on the book of the same name, this unexpected - but still welcome - sequel is directed by Edward Zwick, who worked with Cruise on The Last Samurai. No word yet on that all-important Werner Herzog cameo.
