Release Date: October 14, 2016 You have to admire Tom Hanks for sticking with a dud franchise like this one for so long. Yes, in 2016, the actor most famous for turns in great movies like Philadelphia, Forrest Gump and Big (yes, Big is a great movie) will reprise his role as Professor Robert Langdon for Ron Howard's third adaptation of a Dan Brown book. What gives, Ron Howard? The reason you might not have known that this movie was coming next year presumably comes down to the fact that you don't care about it at all; The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, the first two pictures in this franchise, were both distinctly lackluster affairs of the highest order. Is anyone counting on Inferno to be any different? Uh... The plot will see Langdon "awakening in a hospital room in Florence, Italy, with no memory of what has occurred for the last few days," which leads him to join forces with - as usual - a pretty younger woman, this time played by Felicity Jones. Been there, done that.
