1. Hellboy Gets Distracted; Forgets To Stop A Friend From Being Eaten Alive - Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
The beginning of Hellboy 2 involves a scene where our devilish hero and his faithful companions go to an auction house to investigate what happened with a bunch of strange little creatures nicknamed "tooth fairies" for their small stature and, uh, murderous tendencies. At this point, Hellboy finds himself teamed with a random character - who works for the same agency - called Marble, who is suddenly attacked by one the tooth fairy creatures. Hellboy manages to save Marble, however, and everything is okay. Nice work, Hellboy. You did it. Marble is okay. Out of nowhere, though, our hero and this character - who we can only presume Hellboy knows quite well, given that they work together and he knows the guy by name - are attacked by a swarm of tooth fairies, most of which attach themselves to Marble and begin to eat him. Okay, Hellboy - time for you to save this guy again, right? Uh, Hellboy? Our protagonist, for some reason, suddenly finds himself far too distracted (by just a few of the creatures, may I add) to care about his friend. He slowly defeats the few tooth fairies that are attacking him, ignoring Marble's peril. And then Marble is dead, and Hellboy never mentions him ever again. Serious dick move.
