2. Don Leaves His Wife (28 Weeks Later)
During the original outbreak of the Rage Virus (in 28 Days Later), Don, his wife Alice and four other survivors are hiding in a barricaded cottage on the outskirts of London. When they hear a terrified boy pounding at their door, they let him in. However, the infected have followed the boy to them. The infected attack and kill most of the survivors in the house, while Don, Alice and the young boy are chased upstairs. Don gets separated from Alice and the boy by the infected and jumps out of a window, leaving them to die. Don, closely pursued, desperately sprints to a nearby motorboat and narrowly escapes. Awkwardly, Don would later find that Alice survived. She did get infected however, but was immune to the rage effects. But when they kiss, the virus infects him, and he is not immune. He turns in to one of the infected, kills her extremely violently (pushing his thumbs in to her eyes), before going on a rampage. He is ultimately shot dead.
