10. Pirates of Treasure Island (Pirates of the Caribbean)
Our list wouldn't be complete without including at least a few contributions from The Asylum, and one of their most egregious rip-offs is Pirates of Treasure Island, a blatant pilfering of Pirates of the Caribbean, particularly the events of the second film, Dead Man's Chest. Though it's also loosely based on Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island, the clear intent has been to cash in on the success of the Johnny Depp-starring films. Perhaps most disturbing is the face adoring the rip-off's cover; yes, that's Lance Henriksen, best known as the android Bishop from the Alien franchise. Quite how he went from that, to having his own successful TV show, Millennium, to this, is anyone's guess. Needless to say, it's not exactly a move that's going to fool many parents into buying the wrong DVD; after all, Henriksen looks nothing like Johnny Depp.
