10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Upcoming Movies

5. The Green Goblin Kills Gwen €“ The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Attempting to make up for a first film that played it too slow and safe, Marc Webb and the rest of the team behind The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are going all-out with the web-slinging sequel. Electro as the main villain (at least as far as marketing is concerned), Rhino starring in what is presumably an opening number and, as recently revealed in the trailer, Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin (not to mention the set-up of more of the Sinister Six) look set to provide plenty of villain power for Peter Parker to face. Couple that with explorations of the sidelined mystery doubly whammy of Uncle Ben€™s killer and his father€™s experiments, the film is so big series stalwart Mary Jane Watson had was pushed out in the edit. But when Shailene Woodley finally gets her stab at the character, she could quite easily be the focus of the film; you can€™t expect Sony to have released all the film€™s surprises and what they€™re struggling to keep quiet may just be the death of Gwen Stacey. A defining part of the comics, Gwen Stacy€™s neck snapped when Spider-Man tried to save her from the Green Goblin and all signs point to this storyline (self-explanatorily titled The Night Gwen Stacy Died) being realised on-screen.
